Broadclyst Theatre Group: Aladdin

It's that time of year again: the pantomime season is in full swing, and my fiancee Aimee and I are gearing up for another trip across the border into deepest darkest Devon to see the brilliant Broadclyst Theatre Company. This year this esteemed company are putting on Aladdin, and early indications are that audiences are in for a treat.
I can't claim any insider knowledge of this year's production; it's been more than a year since I bowed out from my Broadclyst duties in Improbable Fiction. But having seen how well the company did justice to Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters (which is no easy task), I can say confidently that you can expect a slick, energetic and highly humorous take on the classic story. And as with Cinderella last year, don't think you'll be short-changed by a lazy rehash of the Disney version; Broadclyst have always gone out of their way to deliver something distinctive and unique.
Aladdin will be playing at the Broadclyst Victory Hall from Thursday 7 to Saturday 9 January; there are performances at 7.30pm every night, with a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday. Tickets are £9 for adults and £6 for concessions, and can be purchased at Broadclyst Post Office or online via TicketSource here. Aimee and I will be there for the final show on the Saturday night, and we would love to see as many people there as possible. You won't want to miss this!
