LETTERS OF NOTE: Jim Henson

Today's Letter of Note concerns Jim Henson, creator of The Muppets and one of the most widely-loved entertainers in history.
Henson died in May 1990 after a short period of illness which resulted in multiple organ failure. Aged 53 and in reasonable health before his illness, Henson had nonetheless made plans for his family in the event of such a tragedy. These plans included two short, moving letters that he wrote some time in the 1980s, one to his five children, the other to his friends and family.
You can read both of Henson's letters here. If you want more of Henson, you can check out my thoughts on his cult classic Labyrinth here, or listen to the accompanying Movie Hour podcast here.
