It's the 23rd day of an even month, which means it's time for another update on my progress through the IMDb Top 250.
It's been just over a year since I started this challenge to see every film in the IMDb Top 250; you can read the original post here. When I began in August 2012 I had seen 109 of the films of the list, and after 12 frustrating months, that number has crept up to a measly 112. I've given my excuses in the past - new entries dropping out, the lower areas of the list frequently changing - but it's clear that a change of approach is needed if I'm ever going to get through this list.
I'm not going to just watch films in the list from now on - that would make the whole thing tedious for you and for me, and I would be overlooking a lot of the new releases that are coming out (I need to catch up on a lot of stuff already). Instead, I'm going to focus henceforth on seeing everything in the Top 100, hopefully by this time next year. I'll still include films lower down the list as and when they come my way, but I figure this smaller target will serve as more of an incentive.
Here, then, is my list as it stands after one year. To give you an idea of how fickle the list can be, The Perks of Being a Wallflower was propping things up less than a fortnight ago, but now it's nowhere to be seen. Here's hoping I'll have made a few more in-roads come October.
