For those who aren't aware, I'm a big fan of all things That Guy With The Glasses - basically an American website where all manner of reviewers come together to review films, video games, comics, anime, TV, RPGs and many more. The site is most famous for producing Doug Walker, a.k.a. the Nostalgia Critic.
Every year the site marks its anniversary by bringing its producers together to make a low-budget fan film. For their first year anniversary, they filmed a brawl between TGWTG producers and the Angry Video Game Nerd, another online reviewer with whom the Nostalgia Critic had a (fictitious) feud. For their 2nd anniversary they made Kickassia, where the producers attempted to invade a micronation in Reno and set up their own country. And last year they brought us the fantasy spoof Suburban Knights, which I'll be reviewing in a little while.
Their 4th year anniversary film/ series, To Boldly Flee, started airing last Friday at midnight (BST), with a new episode being released every three days. I've seen the first two episodes and love them, so I thought I'd share them with you.
I tried embedding the Blip.tv videos but my blog isn't wide enough - in other words, you could see the video but a portion of the right-hand side would be lost. Instead, here are the links to the first two parts:
Part 1: http://blip.tv/nostalgiacritic/to-boldly-flee-part-1-6319212 (which parodies SOPA and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)
Part 2: http://blip.tv/nostalgiacritic/to-boldly-flee-part-2-6319897 (featuring a decent Ghostbusters parody and a very good David Lynch joke)
The third episode will air at midnight this Thursday, and I'll post links to all subsequent episodes individually.
Bear in mind that both of these videos will contain adverts - it's how these guys make their money. If there's problem with the Blip file you can probably find versions on YouTube, but they won't be as high quality. Enjoy!
Daniel
