Today's Letter of Note is an unusually touching one, involving two of Hollywood's most revered actors - Spencer Tracy, the first man to win back-to-back Best Actor Oscars, and Katherine Hepburn, a four-time Oscar winner.
As well as acting together in several films, Tracy and Hepburn were lovers for over 20 years. Their affair stayed a secret while Tracy's wife was still alive, and they only lived together (unmarried) for a few years before Tracy's death from a heart attack in 1967. Eighteen years later, in 1981, Hepburn found herself writing a letter to her late lover, asking him questions about the time they had spent together and how the afterlife was treating him.
