LETTERS OF NOTE: So It Goes

Here's another gem from Letters of Note, to make up for a few days without an actual review.

On this occasion it's the turn of celebrated science fiction author Kurt Vonnegut, the man behind (amongst others) Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse-Five and Breakfast of Champions. In today's Letter of Note he responds with typical wit, intelligence and grace to Mr. Charles McCarthy, head of the Board of Education at Drake High School, North Dakota, after he had ordered the burning of 32 copies of Slaughterhouse-Five due to its obscene language.

The letter is a masterclass in how to argue a point calmly and intelligently, and can be found here.

My next review, of High Society, will be along shortly. If you've not read Slaughterhouse-Five, do so - it's a masterpiece.
