LETTERS OF NOTE: Docter's Orders

Today's Letter of Note brings us back to a recurring theme of artists, writers or filmmakers corresponding with teachers or students, whether to say thank you, argue about censorship, or - in this case - ask advice.

In 2009 Martin Kelsey, the principal of South Valley Middle School in Liberty, Missouri, wrote a letter to PIXAR animator Pete Doctor asking him for advice that he could relay to his students. The director of Monsters, Inc. and Up wrote a kind and generous response, which can be found here.
If you like my posts about Letters of Note, don't forget that the Letters of Note book by the site's creator Shaun Usher will be published this November. You can pre-order your copy by clicking here.
